Police in Greater Sudbury have arrested a 35-year-old man who has been wanted on charges of attempted murder since a downtown stabbing June 14. He was arrested just after 6:20 p.m. on Aug. 26 on Bruce Avenue, police said in a news release Thursday. He was held in custody ahead of an appearance in bail court on Aug. 27. The stabbing took place on Cedar Street around 3:25 p.m. June 14. “Information provided was that an individual had sustained multiple stab wounds and required immediate medical attention,” police said at the time. “Upon arrival, officers located a 33-year-old man who had sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the hospital by Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services.” Police said the suspect and the victim knew each other and they believe the stabbing was “a targeted incident.”
