A 36-year-old man from Greater Sudbury was charged Thursday following an investigation that began in July involving a 13-year-old Cambridge girl. “Waterloo Regional Police received a report from the parent of a 13-year-old Cambridge female after discovering she had been receiving sexually explicit text messages from an adult male,” police said in a news release Sept. 11. “An investigation by Waterloo police determined a 36-year-old male from Greater Sudbury had been communicating with and luring the youth.” Police executed a search warrant at a Copper Cliff residence Thursday and seized several digital devices. The man has been charged with luring, making explicit material available to a child and making child sexual abuse and exploitation material. The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing. Police said there may be additional victims and ask anyone with information to contact the Waterloo or Sudbury Police Services
