A 30-year-old Toronto man is facing drug trafficking charges following an investigation by detectives with the Greater Sudbury Police Service’s Drug Enforcement Unit. His arrest, on Aug. 25, followed a targeted probe in Greater Sudbury. A search of the accused and the vehicle associated with him resulted in the seizure of: “The estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately $3,500,” police said in a news release Wednesday. Multiple charges to be answered in court The accused has been charged with two drug trafficking offences and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. “The accused’s name cannot be released at this time, as the information has not yet been sworn through the court process,” said police in the release. The man is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. Broader appeal The Greater Sudbury Police Service used the arrest to ask local residents to contact police with any knowledge of drug trafficking activities in the city, saying anyone with information is encouraged to call police at 705-675-9171 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
