Ontario Provincial Police say a 32-year-old local man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault following an incident in Sagamok Anishinawbek First Nation that left a person with life-threatening injuries in March. Police responded to a call in the First Nation community at about 3:45 p.m. on March 26. “Upon arrival, officers located an individual with life-threatening injuries who was transported to hospital,” the OPP said in a news release. OPP said one person had been previously charged in relation to the investigation. Another 32-year-old man was charged in March. Suspect located, arrested On June 10, OPP and the Anishinabek Police Service located and arrested the wanted man following what OPP called “a reported sighting.” Police said the accused remains in custody following a court appearance on June 12. Authorities said the joint investigation between OPP and APS is ongoing, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
