Private property crash leads to impaired charges in northern Ont.

A 23-year-old man from Earlton, Ont., faces impaired driving charges following a collision on private property in the Township of Harris, Ont.

On July 27 at about 12:15 a.m., Ontario Provincial Police responded to a collision between a vehicle and a camper trailer on the property.

As a result of the incident and subsequent police investigation, the motorist was charged with two impaired driving offences – including operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of more than 80.

In addition to the charges, the motorist also received 90-day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle used to get him to the beach was impounded for seven days at the owner’s expense.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Haileybury on Aug. 26.
