Police have charged a 43-year-old Port Loring man with impaired driving and other offences after they received a traffic complaint involving an ATV Sept. 3 in East Mills Township. “At approximately 8:30 p.m., North Bay police responded to a report of an individual operating an ATV in a dangerous manner on Highway 522 in East Mills Township,” Ontario Provincial Police said in a release Thursday. “The driver was reported to be performing wheelies, causing the tires to leave the roadway surface and operating the ATV without a helmet.” Police said they later found the driver and determined the individual had consumed alcohol and was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle under the Criminal Code. The man was also charged with failure to comply with a probation order, driving while under suspension, stunt driving and driving without a helmet. The man is to appear in North Bay court Oct. 6.
