A 42-year-old Rutherglen man was charged by Ontario Provincial Police early Sunday morning with impaired driving after a general stop on Yonge street. “At around 2:30 a.m., police observed an ATV travelling without lights and weaving on the roadway, before stopping the vehicle and determined the driver had consumed alcohol,” police said in a news release Sept. 14. The man was charged by police with impaired driving, driving while under suspension, and driving with no insurance and permit. The man’s licence has been suspended for 90 days while the vehicle was impounded for 45 days. The accused is scheduled to appear in North Bay court Oct. 20.
