Pedestrian injured in hit-and-run in the Sault

Police in Sault Ste. Marie are investigating a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian earlier this month outside a fast-food restaurant on Great Northern Road.

The victim received minor injuries and police are trying to find the vehicle involved in the collision.

“The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is seeking witnesses to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian,” police said in a news release May 21.

Dark-coloured jeep

The crash took place around 10:15 a.m. on May 14.

“A dark-coloured Jeep exiting the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant struck a pedestrian walking northbound on the sidewalk,” police said.

“The pedestrian sustained minor physical injuries. The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene.”
