OPP probe theft of UTV, trailer, mining gear in northern Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a high-value theft from a property on Highway 66, near Morrison Lake, in Matachewan Township.

Police say the incident occurred sometime between 8:30 p.m. on April 26 and 8:30 a.m. on April 27. The Kirkland Lake OPP detachment received a report of the theft on Monday morning.

Stolen items include UTV, trailer, mining equipment

Investigators have released images and descriptions of the stolen property.

“Items stolen include a utility vehicle (UTV) described as black and yellow in colour, with snow tracks and a light bar on the top,” said OPP in a news release Tuesday.

In addition to the UTV, a trailer, described as silver and not enclosed, and geophysical mining equipment were also taken.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance with any information regarding the incident or the location of the missing property.
