Nothing says summer like a scoop of your favourite ice cream. Whether it’s a classic like chocolate or vanilla, or maybe it’s something fancy like gold medal ribbon or salted caramel, it’s no doubt that quintessential sweet and refreshing summer treat. As we savour the final weekend of the season, we asked you what flavour keeps you coming back for another cone. According to the local shop, Joye’s Ice Cream at Minet’s Point Beach in Barrie, moose tracks was the most popular flavour this summer for adults. The recipe consists of vanilla ice cream with a chocolate swirl and peanut butter cups sprinkled throughout. Salted caramel was a close second. The kids loved cotton candy the most, which owner Shelley Irwin said came as a surprise, as last year it was bubblegum. Irwin says moose tracks has been hard to keep in stock.
