Northern Ont. victim stabbed several times by multiple attackers

A man faces charges after a complaint in Moosonee, where police seized a knife & suspected fentanyl. In a separate stabbing incident one was sent to hopital too

One person was airlifted to Moose Factory hospital with multiple stab wounds following an attack in Moosonee on July 10.

James Bay Ontario Provincial Police said emergency responders were contacted at 11:30 p.m. to a report of an assault on Bay Road in Moosonee.

“The victim was reportedly attacked by multiple individuals and suffered several stab wounds,” the OPP said in a news release.

“The victim was airlifted to the Moose Factory hospital for further assessment of their injuries, which are serious in nature,” Const. Kyler Brouwer said in an email to CTV News.

“Preliminary findings from the investigation suggest that this was a targeted assault. At this stage, we cannot comment on the nature of the relationship or level of familiarity between the victim and the suspects.”

Police are hoping anyone with information that could help the investigation will come forward, Brouwer added.
