Four units were on scene early Wednesday morning to battle a fire in the city’s northwest, fire services say. Fire and emergency services say they responded to a call for a contents fire around 7 a.m. at a small building on Edge Hill Drive, between Cedar Point and Anne Street. Barrie Fire and Emergency Services tell CTV News that the fire did not damage the structure of the home but burned the contents inside. Multiple people were examined on scene for smoke inhalation but no injures were reported. Two people were treated on scene for smoke inhalation by paramedics. Two others were hospitalized for treatment but later released. Although residents were temporarily displaced, they have since returned to the building, Fire Services Say. According to the fire department, the cause of the fire appears to be electrical.
