No new wildland fires in northeastern Ontario on Monday

Mattagami First Nation evacuees begin returning home as cooler, wet weather helps crews hold Timmins 9 wildfire at about 3,100 hectares.

Cooler weather in the northeast continues to assist firefighters in efforts to hold Timmins 9.

Ontario Forest Fires said in its update Monday afternoon, that two active wildland fires remain the North East Region. Timmins 9 is bein held and still measures at 3,151 hectares.

Another fire in the region is being observed.
