Police in Thunder Bay, Ont., have a 25-year-old man in custody after a month-long probe of seven break-ins and thefts spanning from Aug. 9 to 26. According to police, four of the seven incidents targeted Balsam and Cumberland Streets businesses, with the others targeting a Beverly Street area location. “On Aug. 26, the suspect was located and arrested in the Cumberland Street North and Villa Street area,” police said in a news release Tuesday, adding that in previous incidents the man had left before officers arrived. “That same day, police connected the suspect to three ongoing robbery investigations at a business in the Beverly Street area, which led to additional charges.” The Thunder Bay Police Service has charged the local man with three counts of robbery with a weapon, four counts of robbery with violence and three counts of disguise with intent, six counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and obstructing a peace officer. Additionally, the accused faces seven counts of failing to comply with a release order. The man remains in custody following an initial court appearance.
