Members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service and North Shore Search and Rescue are conducting a ground and aerial search in the Worthington area for a 33-year-old man reported missing. According to police, the man, referred to only as Keith, was last seen around 6 p.m. on July 7 on High Falls Road. Det. Staff Sgt. Barry Ornella said the investigation began after the man was reported missing and has now progressed to a full-scale search of the area. “He was last seen in this area around 6 p.m. last night. So we began an investigation into his disappearance, which led us to today,” Ornella told CTV News at the scene. “Now we are in a position to conduct a thorough search of the area. This is a very remote area of Sudbury. So we’ve activated our search and rescue team and our emergency response unit, and we’ve called in the assistance of the North Shore Search and Rescue.” Ornella said the goal is to locate Keith and check on him. “Community members in the area will see an increased police presence while officers are on scene,” the police service said on social media shortly after 2:30 p.m. Police said the search, which involves both ground teams and air support, is centred on High Falls Road near Edwards Road. Keith is described as 5’7” (approx. 170 cm) tall, approximately 210 pounds (95 kg), with a tanned complexion, brown eyes and a buzz cut. Police said the man was last seen wearing a work shirt similar to the photo provided below with dark pants and work boots. Police first alerted the public to Keith’s disappearance Wednesday morning before noon, asking for assistance in locating the man. “There are concerns for Keith’s well-being,” the original post stated. Authorities are asking anyone with information about Keith’s whereabouts to call Greater Sudbury police at 705-675-9171. “An update will be provided when additional details are available,” police said.
