Hwy. 6 near Espanola reopens after fatal multi-vehicle crash

Provincial police say one person is dead and another injured after a collision involving two passenger vehicles & a motorcycle on Highway 6, south of Espanola.

A fatal collision closed Highway 6 in both directions between Fox Lake Road and Lang Lake Road near Espanola for several hours Tuesday afternoon.

Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police are investigating.

According the Ontario 511, the Highway reopened shortly after 5:30 p.m., with police confirming almost an hour late.

Const. Berkely Parisien told CTV News that the crash involved two passenger vehicles and one motorcycle.

The collision took place around 1:30 p.m. The motorcycle driver was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but it has not yet been confirmed who was killed in the crash.

A second driver was also taken to hospital.

Police have not released any details on the identities of the victims, the cause of the crash or if any charges are pending.
