A 30-year-old man from Edmonton has been charged following a collision involving a single commercial motor vehicle Tuesday morning. The crash took place around 1:35 a.m. May 5 on Highway 69 in Greater Sudbury, Ont., at the Highway 17 junction. “Two occupants in the CMV were transported to the area hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries,” Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release. “The driver, a 30-year-old male from Edmonton, was charged with careless driving causing bodily harm.” Police said the load of milk he was hauling spilled across the roadway. The milk cleanup and removal of the damaged CMV took most of the day Tuesday. “We recommend ... all commercial vehicles to always pre-check their load and ensure their load is safe,” OPP Const. Rob Lewis told CTV News. “Do a circle of the vehicle and ensure that they follow the speed limit of the highways. Try not to be distracted.” The accused was issued a provincial summons and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 12 in Sudbury. RELATED STORIES:
