Celebration of life for Cécile Dionne on Saturday

A celebration of life ceremony will be held Saturday at the Dionne Quints Museum in honour of Cecile Dionne, who passed away last week.

The Dionne Quints Heritage Board is hosting a celebration of life for Cécile Dionne on Saturday.

Dionne, 91, was one of the world-famous Dionne quintuplets. She passed away last week.

Born in Corbeil, Ont., Cécile and her sisters were a global sensation from the moment of their birth on May 28, 1934.

With Cécile’s death, the last surviving quintuplet is Annette.

Officials said the memorial will be held at the Dionne Quints Museum in North Bay, with music by Jon Wheeler of King and High.

“We will have a registry book (compliments of McGuinty Funeral Home) to sign and be delivered to Annette the following week,” the museum said in a news release.

The museum is open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. with free admission.

Music by Jon Wheeler will begin at 10:30 a.m., with some speeches and a minute of silence shortly after 11 am.

“Please join us in acknowledging the legacy of Cécile Dionne,” the release said.
