Brief but intense snow possible for Sudbury, Sault

Environment Canada says four to eight cm of snow could fall sometime today in areas in and around Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie.

While the amount of snow forecast isn’t huge, the snow will fall quickly.

“Brief but intense snowfall could affect road conditions and visibility,” Environment Canada said early Monday afternoon.

“Significantly reduced visibility in heavy snow ... continuing into this evening.”

Snow has developed northeast of Lake Superior and will continue southeastward during the day,

“Given that the heavy snow will be brief, the primary hazard will be significantly reduced visibility as opposed to snowfall accumulations,” the weather statement said.

“Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Travel may be difficult.”
