Alberta driver charged after transport loses a wheel in North Bay

A truck driver from Alberta has been charged following an incident involving a tractor-trailer on Highway 11 in North Bay.

Ontario Provincial Police said on social media that it was alerted by members of the public that a commercial motor vehicle had lost a wheel Feb. 6 on Thibeault Hill.

“The 25‑year‑old driver from Alberta, along with the operating company from Mississauga, have been charged following the wheel separation,” police said.

“The OPP continues to focus on identifying unsafe commercial vehicles to protect all road users.”
