A commercial building in Dollard-des-Ormeaux (DDO), in Montreal’s West Island, has been targeted by attempted arson for the second time, according to Montreal police (SPVM). The previous attempt was on Sunday. The force received a 911 call at 2 a.m. about the incident on Brunswick Boulevard and des Sources Boulevard. “More than one suspect may have been attempting to set a fire to the business,” said Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “When police arrived on the scene, the suspects had already fled.” The building did not suffer any damage, and no incendiary materials were found. “According to the first information obtained from a witness, the suspects were seen loitering around the store, possibly with the intention to commit arson,” Chèvrefils said. The file has been transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.
