A man in his 50s was taken to hospital with serious injuries early Sunday after a head-on collision with a Société de transport de Montréal (STM) bus on the Ville-Marie Expressway (Highway 136) East. Quebec provincial police (SQ) say emergency services were called to the highway near Westmount around 2:30 a.m. According to an SQ spokesperson, the driver of the car was travelling in the wrong direction before colliding with the STM bus. Police said the man is now in stable condition and his life is no longer in danger. The bus driver was also taken to hospital with minor injuries. There were no passengers on the bus at the time. SQ investigators were on scene to analyze the crash and determine what led to it. All lanes on the highway reopened around 8:30 a.m. The investigation is ongoing.
