Laval police say a woman is dead and her male partner has been arrested after officers were called to a home in the Chomedey district Tuesday afternoon. Police told CTV News that the investigation is ongoing but one theory is that it could have been an attempted murder-suicide. Police received a 911 call at around 12:30 p.m. reporting two injured individuals in the home on Jean-Béraud Avenue. The woman, who was 77-year-old, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her partner, a 78-year-old man, was arrested on site and was sent to hospital to be treated for injuries that are not life-threatening. The man and woman were a couple, according to police spokesperson Erika Landry. The suspect will be questioned by investigators once his medical condition allows for it, Landry said.
