A teenage girl is in hospital after the SUV she was travelling in was involved in a single-vehicle collision on Highway 20 on Montreal’s South Shore on Sunday. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) said the collision happened at 11 a.m., when the driver lost control of her vehicle, went off the road, and then struck a lamp post before crashing into a median near Saint-Mathieu-de-Belœil, Que. SQ spokesperson Marythé Bolduc said all three occupants of the SUV — an adult woman, who was the driver, and two teen girls — were sent to hospital. One of the teens suffered life-threatening injuries, police say, but is now out of danger. The other two suffered minor injuries, and police don’t fear for their lives. With files from Dario De Felice
