The province says the long-term care home currently under construction in Grenfell, Sask. is now 50 per cent complete. In an update provided Monday, the province says framing has been completed, with crews working to finish exterior finishes and roofing. Site grading and concrete work is in progress with paving expected to be done in the near future. On the interior, drywalling continues. The 33-bed facility will include two spa tub rooms, commercial kitchen, common living and dining spaces, administrative areas, a maintenance garage and parking stalls. The home will be owned and operated by the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA). The province is investing almost $40 million in the project, with the Town off Grenfell, the Grenfell and District Health Foundation (GDHF) and surrounding rural municipalities will contribute $4.9 million toward capital costs, furniture, fixtures and equipment. PCL Construction Management Inc., which is leading the project, began onsite work in July 2025. The completion of “substantial construction” is expected in 2027. Grenfell is located 115 kilometres east of Regina.
