Quebecer finds winning lottery ticket while cleaning

Sandra Turin was cleaning her garage when she found an old lottery ticket at the bottom of a grocery bag.

The Laurentians resident says she took it to be validated and had the surprise of her life -- she had won $500,000.

“I feel twice lucky,” she said. “I won and I found the ticket before its expiry date.”

Noovo Info explains that Turin bought the Lotto Max ticket last August.

She says she plans to pay off part of her mortgage with her newfound riches.

According to Loto-Quebec, lottery players have one year from the draw date on their ticket to claim their prizes.
