A region of Quebec will be one of the next two in the country to no longer receive door-to-door delivery from Canada Post. Addresses in Sept-Iles along with Winnipeg are the first to begin receiving mail only at community mailboxes in a new rollout. Around 4 million more addresses will move to community mailboxes in the coming years as Canada Post updates its service. The company says the aim is to improve “security of the mail and parcels while reducing delivery costs.” To find out when your address will make the switch, you can use the online tool and enter your postal code to see when the area is scheduled to convert to a community mailbox. Canada Post will also begin delivering parcels on the weekends and has updated its return system. In Laval, postal codes starting with H7P, H7R, H7W, H7X and H7Y will be the first to switch in November 2027. Addresses in Montreal’s east end, including Riviere-des-Prairies, Pointe-aux-Tremble and Anjou, will begin transferring in 2028. The rollout for some addresses in the centre of the island will begin as late as 2031.
