A nurse in the Quebec City region says she has no plans to leave her job after winning the $5 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot. Stefanie Pepin learned of her win after receiving a voicemail from Loto-Québec informing her she had matched the winning numbers in the Feb. 18 draw. She had purchased the ticket online. When she checked her online account and saw the prize amount, her reaction was immediate. “It’s a good start to the day,” she recalled thinking. Despite the life-changing windfall, Pepin says she intends to continue working at the hospital and caring for her patients. For now, she plans to take her time deciding what to do with the money, but says she hopes to treat others. “I’m definitely going to give gifts to my loved ones,” she said.
