Police in Longueuil (SPAL) on Montreal’s South Shore are asking potential jewellery theft victims, who may have had items stolen by a domestic cleaner, to come forward. The suspect is said to mainly target elderly people. Longueuil resident Mélanie Tanguay, 48, appeared in court on Thursday on theft over $5,000 charges in relation to thefts in three private residences in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville and Sainte-Julie in recent months. “Investigators have reason to believe that the suspect may have committed further burglaries in homes across the metropolitan area, as well as in certain neighbouring municipalities,” the SPAL said in a news release. Any potential victims can call 450-463-7211.
