Longueuil police (SPAL) are searching for a man who is posing as a postal worker to steal mail in the Saint-Hubert borough on the South Shore of Montreal. The police are asking the public to help identify the man, who is over the age of 25 years old, approximately 5′10, 175 pounds and has brown hair and eyes. He also has a mustache, a thin beard and a tattoo on the side of his neck. According to police, a man was spotted on Raoul Avenue on March 30 at around 1:40 p.m., wearing a fluorescent yellow vest and holding a stack of flyers, creating the impression that he was a postal worker making deliveries. Residents saw that he was reportedly looking through a mailbox before leaving with several envelopes, and managed to take back one of the envelopes from him. Investigations revealed that the letters retrieved included personal identification numbers (PINs) linked to TD Bank credit cards. It was further confirmed that credit card applications in the complainant’s name had been made without their knowledge. The Longueuil police are asking the public to call 911 if they recognize the man or have information that could advance the investigation.
