Motorcyclist killed after colliding with a pole in Lanaudière

A motorcyclist was killed late Monday afternoon after losing control of his bike and colliding with a utility pole in Saint-Roch-Ouest, in the Lanaudière region.

Emergency services were called at around 4 p.m. to the scene of an accident involving a motorcyclist, explained Camille Savoie, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

The driver reportedly lost control of his motorcycle on a curve on Rang de la Rivière Nord before hitting a utility pole.

Resuscitation efforts were performed on the victim, who was then transported to a hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead.

The scene was analyzed by a police officer trained in collision investigation to try to understand the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The road was closed while the scene was being analyzed.

The investigation is ongoing.
