Montreal Victoire activates forwards Marie-Philip Poulin and Maureen Murphy

The Montreal Victoire announced Saturday that the team has activated forwards Marie-Philip Poulin and Maureen Murphy from the long-term injured list ahead of the team’s final regular-season game on Saturday night in Seattle.

Poulin was placed on the injured list on March 15, the date she suffered a lower-body injury against Boston at Place Bell. She has missed the team’s last 10 games. The Victoire captain has tallied nine goals and eight assists in 18 games this season.

Meanwhile, Murphy suffered an upper-body injury during the March 19 game against the Seattle Torrent and has missed the last nine games. She has scored four goals and tallied seven points in 20 games this season.

To make room for them to return to the lineup, the Victoire placed rookie defender Nadia Mattivi and Tamara Giaquinto on the reserve list. Consequently, the team released defender Kelly-Ann Nadeau and forward Sam Isbell from the reserve list.

Mattivi was immediately activated after signing a 10-day contract.

The matchup between the Victoire (16-5-2-6 – 60 points) and the Torrent will take place at 10 p.m. With a win, regardless of the margin, the Montreal team will secure first place in the standings. The Torrent is eliminated but still hopes to secure the top overall pick in the upcoming draft.

The Victoire will begin its best-of-five semifinal series on May 2 at Place Bell. The time and opponent are yet to be determined.
