Montreal police have arrested a suspect accused of sexually abusing minors on city buses and believe he might have other unidentified victims. Court records show he has been charged with sexual offences in the past. Rosenthal Jr. Dorleans, a 37-year-old resident of Montreal’s Riviere-des-Prairies—Pointe-aux-Trembles borough, was arrested on March 16 and charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference following three alleged incidents, two of which involved a minor, police say. Police say the incidents happened between 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. on Nov. 12, 2025, and on March 10 and 13, 2026. The suspect allegedly followed the victims on Société de transport de Montréal (STM) buses, specifically the 193 Jarry (westbound) and the 439 Express Pie-IX (southbound) and, during the trips, “he allegedly committed acts of a sexual nature, including sexual contact and sexual assault,” police said in a news release. Police released a photo of Dorleans, who is described as a Black man who is five feet eight inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. According to court records, Dorleans has pleaded guilty to charges of indecent acts in public at least twice in Quebec — in 2017 and in 2024. In the former case, he was sentenced to probation for three years. In 2024, he was given a six-month suspended sentence to be served in the community, followed by three years of probation. Investigators are now looking for other potential victims or witnesses who saw similar behaviour in the 2026 case.
