Montreal’s blue-collar workers have announced seven days of strikes, from Sept. 22 to 28. The strike will take place during the road cycling world championships. There are 6,000 members of the Syndicat des cols bleus regroupés, a local of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), which is affiliated with the FTQ. The union confirmed Wednesday that essential services would be maintained if the strike is carried out. The dispute is mainly over compensation.
