The Montreal arson squad is investigating a fire that broke out at 3:16 a.m. Saturday in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough, severely damaging a two-storey multi-commercial building. Nearly 80 fire trucks responded to the two-alarm blaze on Décarie Blvd. between Plamondon Avenue and Vezina Street, according to the Montreal fire department. The fire department said the building houses a garage and a restaurant. They said it was unclear whether other small businesses operated there. No injuries were reported. However, Montreal police (SPVM) said evidence found at the scene suggests the fire was deliberately set.
