A 40-year-old man sustained upper-body injuries after being assaulted with a blunt object in Montreal’s Verdun borough early Saturday. Montreal police received a call at approximately 4:15 a.m. regarding a dispute between a man and a woman in an apartment building on Rue Rielle near Wellington Street. When police arrived, the man was outside the building with injuries. He was unconscious when he arrived at the hospital but is now reported to be in stable condition. Based on the information police received at the scene, police arrested the man. A 40-year-old woman was also arrested inside the apartment building. The woman was brought to the police’s detention centre and was scheduled to be interviewed by investigators Saturday morning. A security perimeter was established at the crime scene, and the investigation remains ongoing.
