A woman in her 80s is in critical condition in hospital after she was struck by an STM bus Friday morning in what police say appears to be a hit-and-run. The woman was struck by the Montreal public transit bus at 6:55 a.m. at the corner of Pie-IX Boulevard and D’Amiens Street in Montreal North. Montreal police spokesperson Anne-Sophie Simard said the woman was conscious when attended to by paramedics, but is now in critical condition in hospital. After reviewing camera footage and speaking with witnesses, police say it appears to be a hit-and-run. The STM bus made a left turn on Pie-IX before continuing south on Pie-IX after striking the woman, said Simard. A perimeter has been established at the scene and investigators are looking into the collision. No arrests have been made.
