Boil water advisory lifted in Chateauguay, some surroundings areas still in effect

A boil water advisory that was placed Saturday for the city of Chateauguay has been lifted.

The advisory also impacted municipalities served by the city’s water system, including Chateauguay, Mercier, Léry, Saint-Urbain-Premier and Sainte-Martine.

The boil water advisory remains in Mercier.

“We must wait for the results of another test before lifting the boil water advisory,” according to the city’s Facebook page.

The other cities have not yet updated their social media or websites to indicate whether the boil water advisory has been lifted.

The city of Chateauguay initially placed a precautionary boil water advisory on Saturday as a result of a technical problem at the Marchand drinking water production plant.

The advisory also impacted all municipalities served by the city’s water system.
