Wanted man arrested, facing more charges from London police

A man, who already had 11 outstanding warrants with London police, is facing another charge after being arrested Sunday night.

Police say the incident happened around 10 p.m. in the area of Commissioners Road West and Andover Drive.

During his arrest, police say he ‘actively resisted’ and attempted to grab a sheathed knife from his waistband.

When heading to the police cruiser, he allegedly kicked an officer, but no injuries were reported.

During the arrest, police seized a large knife, 11 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, three grams of suspected cocaine, and a small amount of carfentanil.

The suspect, 26, was charged with the following:

• Three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance
• Assault a peace officer
• Resist arrest
• Carry concealed weapon
• Breach of probation

He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled.
