VIA Rail train makes unexpected stop outside St. Marys due to mechanical issues

Mechanical issues forced a VIA Rail train to unexpectedly stop outside of St. Marys on Tuesday.

The train was bound for Toronto from Sarnia.

The train and its passengers were eventually moved to London.

People then boarded onto a bus to Union Station.

VIA says passengers who experienced a delay of more than four hours will be given a 100 per cent travel credit.

“VIA Rail apologizes sincerely for the inconvenience caused and thanks passengers for their patience,” VIA said in a statement.
