The unemployment rate in midwestern Ontario has dropped to 3.6%, the lowest it’s been since November 2024. September’s jobs report show the biggest gains in Transportation and Warehousing with more than 500 jobs added in those sectors last month across Huron, Perth, Bruce, and Grey Counties. Some bad news in the numbers show more than 3100 leaving the labour force, and only 500 joining the labour force. That will not help fill the more than 1200 job openings across the region.
