Two men charged after suspect reportedly showed firearm in London traffic

London police are reporting the arrest of two men over the weekend as part of a weapons investigation.

Around 2 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to multiple calls after citizens reported a suspect who was crossing roads in the north-west end of the city, yelling at motorists and showing what appeared to be a firearm.

According to police, a citizen followed the suspect to a home near Foxridge Cresent and Tokala Trail. Officers went to the area and the suspect was found and arrested.

While in custody, police said the suspect assaulted one of the officers.

After using a search warrant, police seized a handgun-style airsoft gun and a sawed-off shotgun.

A 34-year-old London man is facing charges of possession of a weapon, assault a peace officer, and carry concealed weapon.

After investigating, a 46-year-old man from London was also charged with carless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon, and possess restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence.
