Sarnia police are asking for the public’s help to identify two suspects after a robbery at a business in the city’s south end early Tuesday. Police say officers were called to a business in the 300 block of Wellington Street shortly after midnight on July 28 following a report of a robbery. According to investigators, a masked man approached an employee and handed them a note demanding money from the cash register. Police say the note contained threats of violence if the employee did not comply. Police said a masked woman then escorted the employee to the register. After the register was opened, the suspect allegedly took all of the cash and some change inside, amounting to several hundred dollars. The suspects left the business at about 12:19 a.m. and were last seen walking south on Wellington Street. Patrol officers and the Sarnia Police Service canine unit searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects. Police describe the female suspect as wearing a green baseball cap, a black and white pinstripe jacket, a black and white horizontally striped shirt, black capri pants, red shoes and a white medical mask. Investigators say she was carrying a folding pocket knife. The male suspect was wearing blue shoes, dark shorts, a blue T-shirt, a red-orange hat, a green backpack and a white mask. Anyone with information that could help identify the suspects or determine their whereabouts is asked to contact the Sarnia Police Service at 519-344-8861. Police are also seeking doorbell camera and dashcam footage recorded in the area around the time of the incident.
