A nearly $3.8‑million investment by a St. Thomas manufacturer is expected to help grow production, expand into new markets and create new jobs in the community. Forest City Castings Inc., which specializes in precision graphite molding, is investing $3,759,238 to boost its production capacity and strengthen its advanced manufacturing capabilities. The company says the expansion will help protect 42 existing jobs and create five new positions in St. Thomas. The investment was announced Friday by Elgin–Middlesex–London MPP Rob Flack. “By supporting strategic investments from regional businesses, our government is protecting Ontario’s workers and creating the conditions for a strong, stable and resilient economy,” Flack said in a statement. Forest City Castings says the funding will allow the company to modernize and expand its operations with new, state‑of‑the‑art equipment. The upgrades are expected to improve efficiency and support the production of high‑precision metal castings used in sectors such as medical, defence, robotics and other advanced technologies.
