Sections of Highway 402 near London and Strathroy reopen following collisions

The westbound lanes of Highway 402 near London have been reopened Wednesday evening while a new highway closure in Strathroy is now in effect.

According to social media posts from OPP West Region, Highway 402 westbound between Colonel Talbot Road to Longwoods Road has been reopened after being closed earlier in the evening due to the weather.

Police say the eastbound lanes of Highway 402 between Kerwood Road and Centre Road in Strathroy have also reopened after a two-vehicle collision.

The extent of any injuries remains unknown.

Police are asking drivers to avoid unnecessary travel.
