Provincial police say one person is missing after a water emergency involving a raft on Lake Huron at Pinery Provincial Park. OPP in Lambton County said officers were called at about 3 p.m. Monday after receiving reports that a raft carrying five people was in distress. Police said two people were able to swim safely to shore, while two others made their way back onto the raft. One person remains unaccounted for. The OPP, with assistance from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), continues to search in the area. Police said there are no concerns for public safety at this time, but members of the public can expect an increased presence of police and emergency crews as the search continues. Investigators said details remain limited out of respect for those involved and the ongoing investigation. They added that updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
