A 72-year-old Central Huron man and his dog have died after being struck by a pickup truck on Highway 4 Friday evening. Just after 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, members of the Huron County OPP and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to a collision on London Road just north of Vanastra Road. Upon arrival, emergency services located a pedestrian and their dog, both had been struck by a pickup truck. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The dog was critically injured and was euthanized at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and was not injured. The cause of the collision is being investigated. OPP says no charges have been laid at this time. Highway 4 between Clinton and Vanastra has reopened.
