The first half of the weekend may be unsettled, but dads across London will be treated to a beautiful and sunny Father’s Day Sunday. According to CTV News Windsor Meteorologist Gary Archibald, London will see another breezy day on Friday, with the daytime high holding at 23 C, feeling like 25 with the humidity, or just three degrees shy of the average temperature for this time of year. Winds will remain the main story on Friday, with sustained winds of 30 km/h and gusts of up to 50 km/h. Archibald says there is a slight chance of scattered showers Friday night into the overnight, but for the most part Friday will boast a mix of sun and cloud during the day and mostly clear skies at night, with a low of 9 C. “[An] area of low pressure to the north and east of us. This system lingering over northern central Ontario, the Nickel Belt region, and it looks like it’s going to slide a little bit further south towards the overnight. Anywhere from about 11 p.m. towards 3 a.m. there’s potential of some showers moving into our neck of the woods,” Archibald said. Archibald says the weather system will move from the west across Michigan, leading to possibly “more steady showers” heading towards Saturday. There will be a mix of sun and cloud with a 60 per cent chance of showers and risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon, with a high of 23 C, feeling like 25 with the humidity. There will be cloudy skies and a 30 per cent of showers with a low of 10 C on Saturday night. “Sundays, the big day for dads everywhere no doubt. So, we’re hoping that if we do see showers over the next two days, it’ll happen on Saturday and leave Sunday clear,” Archibald said. Looking ahead to Father’s Day, dads across London will be treated as the high will reach 23 C and there will be nothing but sunshine. Make sure to soak up the sunshine though as the rain will roll into the region come Sunday night. “Enjoy your weekend with dads, your weekend and your weather,” Archibald said.
