A man is facing numerous charges after multiple break-ins and acting disruptive while in custody, following his arrest Monday night. At about 8 p.m., officers were called to an address on Cotterbury Street after a resident reported a man who broke into their vehicle and sat inside with a hammer. The suspect fled from the scene after the resident yelled at him. About 20 minutes later, he was reported breaking into a nearby home, after awaking a female resident when she heard noises in her home. Her husband, who just arrived home, pinned the suspect down to the floor. The woman reported the situation to police, and they arrested the suspect. While police were arresting him, they located a knife the suspect stole from the kitchen. The homeowners were uninjured, and police say the homeowner acted lawfully in applying reasonable physical force until police arrived. Police say a search of the suspect yielded drug paraphernalia, narcotics and items stolen from the residence. The suspect was placed in custody, but while in custody he received more charges after smearing feces on the walls and throwing it at the monitoring camera. He faces the following charges by police: After his bail hearing, he was brought back into custody.
