Summerlike temperatures and sunshine are on the horizon again, but first Londoners will get to get through a rainy and windy weekend. “A sunny start to our day today, but the clouds are starting to roll in,” said CTV News London’s Reta Ismail. “We have a big weather system that is going to push through from the south this weekend.” Friday’s daytime high will peak at 19 C with wind gusts of up to 50 km/h. Cloud cover will increase with rain beginning sometime overnight. Gusty winds will continue, while the low will drop several degrees to 14 C. “It will be cold, windy and rainy throughout your Saturday,” said Ismail. “Cloudy periods of rain starting at midnight and then the winds gusting out of the east 30 to 50 kilometers per hour. And then tomorrow morning, we are going to wake up to 13 degrees [Celsius]. The storm risk is there as the system passes through and the rain will be there right into the evening.” Ismail says that due to continued windy conditions on Saturday and prolonged rainfall of between 15 to 25 millimetres with the possibility of embedded thunderstorms, “it will feel cold and damp.” Overnight Saturday the temperature will hold steady at 13 C, with a 30 per cent chance of rain. Ismail says on Sunday there is a chance of wraparound rain showers, but mostly cloudy skies with a high of 21 C. “So, the weekend, a bit of a washout. But Monday through to Friday looks absolutely beautiful. The chance for rain, very minimal or temperatures warming up into the mid 20s by Wednesday. High 26.
